June's Inspiration

Hot summer days calls for pastels , white , creme and nude against sunkissed skin. Pastel colors are light , cool and effortless , white is refreshing , clean and crisp and nude is alluring , tempting and sexy. All three colors evoke different feelings , however , there is only one important factor that is common to all three , minimalism. Have you ever looked at old pictures and think to yourself " why was my hair so big?" , "why was my make-up so heavy?" ," "why was I wearing so much jewellery?"
With minimalism you won't ever have to ask these questions as you will look timeless a decade from now. Its the clean lines , no fuss styles of time which proves that less is actually more.As tempting as it may be to add the elaborate chandelier earring , voluminous curls and that beautiful shimmery eyeshadow , resist the temptation and go for tiny knobs , sleek hair and subtle make-up.

Personally I like over the top, I'm talking bout that visual overload sensory stimulating orgasmic type ish , but  I’ve been advocating for minimalism these days, lets see how long that will last for.

June's Favorite

I missed the second show on Saturday night but my good friend was one of the main photographers at the show and got all that took place. While going through his pictures I saw the pieces of Mrs.Kaysian Bourke and instantly fell in lust. Her line draws from the 1960's-70's giving a vintage twist to trendy styles.Every design is carefully constructed from delicate silks and sheer with voluminous shapes and soft , sensual and fresh colors. Her design focuses on how to flatter a woman's body type while giving them a sexy , effortless appearance , I can't wait to get my hands on one of Kaysian's pieces.

Caribbean Fashion Week 2013: Day 1

I had to miss the Style week events but I was able to catch some of the Caribbean Fashion Week shows, hallelujah! On Friday (the first show) I had all intentions of wearing a blush pink pants suit but mercy it was hot! I instead opted for a blush pink sparkly cropped top and pastel green flowy layered skirt which I  made to wear on the beach sometime this summer. I love how whimsical this skirt looks when I walk around it , I was literally twisting and twirling all evening , yea honestly. Anyway , its the beginning of summer and its 96 degrees in the shade , little cropped tops and light flowy skirts is most definitely going to be my uniform for the rest of the Summer.

Style Week 2013

Last month I attended the launch of Style Week where I met the masterminds behind the production. After chatting with them they gave me full access to attend all the shows and go backstage to meet some of the models and designers. I was so excited and I wanted to share the experience with you but I guess God had other plans for me that week as I was only able to attend one show , how disappointing. The show on Friday night was a small ,relaxed and intimate setting. The designers showcased pieces made from crochet , colorful beaded designs on long flowy dresses and elaborate fascinators and head pieces. Since all I can see for the summer is cool pastel colors ,white , creme and nude I naturally took a liking to this little creme summer dress.

That night I wore a creme dress also. The pictures doesn't do the design and fit any justice but the vintage number has a beautiful sequin , lace and ribbon design with over sized ruffled shoulders and a high split in the back.
Because the dress was so fussy I wore minimal jewllery , simple silver sandals and a nude clutch.

Which one , pick one , this one ..classic.
