Summertime Fine

I wish I could give you guys more fashion posts but I haven't been going anywhere fancy lately , in fact , I've been going to the beach more often now that Summer is almost here and its starting to get really hot.

Wore this blue one piece swimsuit that I've had for maybe 8 years to Strawberry Fields Beach in St.Mary over the Labor Day Holiday. It's highly likely that most of my posts this summer will be in swimsuits and very little clothing due to this heat , maybe I'll do some vacation inspo type of posts. On another note one piece swimsuits are the shit ,  it shapes the body out nicely and works wonders with keeping a tummy bulge compact , its my go to swimsuit really.

Hennessy V Black Tie - Outfit Inspo Part 2

I always say I want to go somewhere fancy so I can dress up but then when a fancy occasion comes around I can never find something to wear. If you are anything like me you are probably annoyed at the selection of clothing in your closet right now and usually when I feel like this I either just go with something very simple or start piecing together outfits out of nothing.

I'm wearing a tube top , a pencil skirt and two tulle skirts , if you are completely blank as to what to wear to Hennessy V tonight you can try a look like this with or without the tulle skirts. The beauty of simple ensembles is that once the fit is right you will stand out. Enjoy yourselves tonight little darlings!

Hennessy V Black Tie- Outfit Inspo Part 1

The high fashion event Hennessy V - The Black Tie Edition is this Saturday and as you can imagine head to toe glamor is the order of the day. Some will skip the fussiness but if you step out to be seen make sure you show the hell out.  I collected a few looks to share with you guys , hope this helps with the outfit selection.

Textures
When its time to get fancy my ole' faithful formula is none other than sequin , leather , tulle , furry textures and the newcomer ; fishtail shapes. I must have done a million and one renditions of my basic formula and I never get tired of it , I guess that makes me a basic Biiaatchhhh , oh well.

Embrace an edgy appeal with the skin tight knee length wet leather and sheer combination complimented with a light weight white or black fur stole thrown around the shoulders , a sleek tube top and long fishtail skirt pairing , eye-catching metallic or sequin or a wide and full floor length tulle skirt with a fitted midriff baring top.

Stepping Razor
We already know that the men is on that tailor made suit and tie steeze but ladies you can suit up and brush that shoulder off too. Given that the theme for this staging is "Black Tie" it is more than fitting to don a well made suit with cleavage peeking out , a blazer dress with ankle boots or a risque sheer and tuxedo blazer combination. With these androgynous looks fit and detail must never be compromised , how ever you do your version , ensure that when you step through the scene you are sharper than a razor.

Grown and Sexy
Morph into the grown and sexy version of you with a sultry form fitting floor length piece , a daring slinky dress or something a little understated such as an interesting mini , fishnet stockings and a skin baring top.

I am clearly on that edgy , sultry and sleek vibe and so naturally make-up and hair would follow suit with slicked back hair , low ponytails , finger waves , dramatic winged eyeliner , black smokey eyes , eye glitter and head pieces.

Let them know when its time to clean up we clean up real nice , show up to show out.

Make -Up Mondays: Electric Blue

Took a shot at a dramatic , edgy yet sultry make-up look the other evening when I went out for dinner. If you are not into the overly done up "beat face" look then this simple but eye-catching make up look might just be right up your alley.

Step 1: After I applied my foundation, concealer and blush I used a wet q-tip to entirely cover my eye lids in a cobalt blue hue , navy blue eye-shadow at the edges of my eyelids and the lightest shimmery silver/baby blue color in the tear duct of my eyes. Using a small makeup brush I blended all three colors creating a smooth gradient of light to dark shade while maintaining a cat eye shape. Used the same technique for the bottom of my eyes.

Step 2: I used a liquid eyeliner to line the lids of my eyes and as I got closer to the edges the line grew noticeable thicker (a cat eye shape/winged liner look). Lined my lower eye with a regular black eye liner.

Step 3: To intensify the blue hue I piled electric blue eye glitter using a wet q-tip and applied dramatic lashes.

Step 4: Finished my make up with a pale pink lip stick but I think a neutral color on the lip would have been much better considering the fact that the eye make-up was so heavy.

The summer party season is fast approaching with the much anticipated event of class and sophistication "Hennessy V" staging its grande "Black Tie" edition this Saturday May 9 , 2015 at the Waterfront , Downtown , Kingston. If you are already putting together your ensemble , consider this and similar sparkly and bold make-up looks for an edgy appeal with a touch of glamour.

Opa Blue

Had I known that the dinning experience at Opa Restaurant was so superb I would have done an actual feature on the new Greek Restaurant (photos and all) but I didn't go with that intent so I'll just share a quick synopsis of my night.
The atmosphere at Opa is very intimate and homely , the decor ; simplistic yet artistic and the staff was beyond kind and attentive. I was so skeptical about the menu offering because I've never tried Greek cuisine before but the food was so good I ate my okra and tomato vegetarian mix and had half of my date's Greek pizza too.
As we were about to leave all the staff members came out singing and wishing me a Happy Birthday (with a slice of desert in hand) even though my Birthday was over a month ago ,  needless to say ,  I was pleasantly surprised and  particularly impressed with how warm and welcoming the Opa family was.
It's fair to say I found a hidden gem in the heart of Kingston that deserves nothing less that a 5 star rating for the overall fine dinning experience offered.

For the night out I wore a sequin mini , attempted to be modest with a furry wrap draped over my shoulders and accessorized with random silver jewelry. I think a white furry piece loosely thrown over the shoulders with a simple dress is such a youthful yet classy look.

Wild

I know its not throwback Thursday but I am throwing it back on this here Monday with this wild animal print dress I wore sometime in 2014 on a date.

Did my usual re-working on this vintage piece and shortened and penciled the once flared dress , did a triangular cut out in the back , added shoulder pads for structure and black lining around the neck and along the bodice for a little definition.

I'm not a make-up guru but I tried my hand at a sexy black and grey smokey eye and dark red lips. I'm planning to experiment more with my make-up this year and when I do get it right share short tutorials.

This picture does the scenery absolutely no justice but the view of the city lights across from Morgan's Harbour is breathtakingly beautiful at night. Anyway little darlings , hope you are all having a safe and peaceful Easter Holiday.
