With the amount of leather that was on the runway this year , I couldn't help but to be inspired. The typical look was leather on leather but I mixed leather with different fabrics and textures such as silk , cotton and faux fur , I know its not typical Jamaican dressing but we are not here for anything typical. Its no secret that leather is one of the biggest trends of 2012/2013 but wearing leather may be a bit of a problem for those that live in places that is warm all year round. The trick to wearing leather in warm places such as Jamaica is to wear only one leather piece and keep the rest of the outfit very light weight and thin with materials such as cotton and sheer , also I suggest you wear it in the night when its much cooler. If you are living in a country that is a lot cooler go crazy with the trend and wear leather on leather on leather and knock yourself out.
People will stare , make it worth their while.

April's Favorite
Meet Eugene Marshall. Eugene has a Caribbean background , Trinidadian to be exact , but he now lives in New York where he is a stylist and has styled Jesse Williams , Chris brown and ASAP Rocky just to name a few , and is also the men's fashion director at a luxury company. What I like
most about Eugene is that he appears to be so comfortable in his skin and exudes so much confidence , he is confident enough to wear whatever he likes
even if it may look crazy to others. Truth be told that is really what fashion is about ; confidence and Eugene wears it so well.
Embrace what makes you unique , even if it makes others uncomfortable.

DIY Project : Thigh High Boots
For this project you are going to need a pair of calf high boots , leather pants , scissors and a sewing machine.
First determine how high on you thigh that you want your boots to go , make a mark at that point and cut the pants right across. Using your sewing machine adjust the sides of the material cut from the leather pants so that it fits snug on your thigh. Now , hem the top of the material and the remaining piece from the upper part of the pants.

Atlanta Files Part 1.
When I'm away I take advantage of the opportunity to wear outfits that I wouldn't be able to wear in Jamaica. On one of those days that I went on the road with my brother I wore this leather skirt , a Rouge faux fur vest , a blazer from Reitmans and this gorgeous olive green satchel bag I found at a vintage boutique. There is something about satchel bags that I am into these days. They bring function and fashion together as they are a perfect alternative to a hefty handbag and holds a lot more than a cross body bag , I want a hundred in every colour. Anyway we did a little shopping , got lunch and went to a shipping company to pick up a box and while waiting impatiently on the box we snapped a few idle pictures.
